Paula Lyons
For over two decades, Paula Lyons was a local and nationally recognized consumer reporter. She served 9 years as consumer editor for Boston’s WBZ-TV, Channel 4, and host of “Lyons on the Lookout,” covering consumer issues that concern New Englanders. Prior to joining the station in 1994, she was a consumer editor for ABC Television’s “Good Morning America” from 1989 to 1994, and also for WCVB-TV, Channel 5 in Boston, from 1978 to 1989. Lyons has been honored with the Consumer Federation of America’s prestigious Outstanding Consumer Media Service Award and the National Press Club’s Journalism Award for Best Investigative Reporting. She has been a contributing writer on consumer issues for the national magazine Ladies’ Home Journal and is also a regular panelist with her husband journalist/playwright/poet Arnie Reisman on National Public Radio’s weekly comedy quiz show “Says You.” Following her television career she was an executive coach with Bates Communications of Wellesley. Before TV, she worked in various capacities for the city of Boston including press secretary to Mayor Kevin H. White, assistant director of the Mayor’s Office of Communications and deputy director of the Office of Federal Relations. She has also worked as a teacher in Boston and at the American School of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Lyons holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Newton College of the Sacred Heart and a Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts. She lives on Martha’s Vineyard.
